We partner with governments, development agencies, communities and universities to design, evaluate, and strengthen the systems that underpin resilient island futures — from nature-based sanitation and water-sensitive infrastructure to climate adaptation and disaster recovery. We work at the intersection of environment and human health, engineering and social science, policy and traditional governance, implementing new co-designed solutions at scale and translating them into practical, scalable development pathways.
Who We Are
We are a specialist non-commercial, for-good consultancy that brings together hands-on expertise in co-designing and implementing community-centred, evidence-driven projects at multiple scales across the Indo-Pacific, Australia and Southeast Asia, grounded in over 15 years of applied research and delivery experience across water, sanitation and climate/disaster resilience.
We apply the latest thinking in planetary health, nature-based solutions, water-sensitive cities, integrated water management and inclusive, participatory action to co-develop local, national and regional transformations, backed by leading expertise in best-practice environmental and social safeguards frameworks used by major development funders.
Our unique combination of technical depth and program-scale delivery experience blends academic rigor, field-tested pragmatism, local leadership and relationship building – a true ‘transdisciplinary’ practice that foregrounds lived experience, traditional knowlege, and local cultural anchoring.

Our Approach
Our singular focus is on co-developing unduring sociotechnical solutions that comprehensively address the drivers and constraints that underpin a challenge and are guided by beneficiaries and stakeholders in a way that ensures local cultural alignment and ownership. We aim to be trusted long-term partners, using participatory, community-centered methods to ensure infrastructure and policy recommendations are genuinely fit for purpose, not just technically sound, because we know that enduring outcomes require sustained investment in relationships before funding and action can generate lasting impact.
Where We Work
Our focus is squarely on the challenges facing island and coastal communities and informal settlements in developing cities: constrained land and water resources, exposure to climate hazards, and the need for infrastructure that is both technically robust and locally manageable. We have worked extensively in Pacific island contexts, where sanitation and water systems must be designed for tight logistical and financial constraints under significant climate stressors, as well as in informal settlements of Indonesia and Southeast Asia, and in disaster-affected communities of regional Australia navigating long-term recovery and adaptation under the cloud of repeated climate disasters.
